Product Promotion for Unity Assets and GameDev
I’m Andrey Sirota and I Share Game Dev Tips & Tutorials — Open to Brand Collaborations & Product Promotion on My Social Media:
- LinkedIn — Main Platform,
- YouTube — Posts + Videos,
- makaka.org — Long Reads.
Sell Smarter — Not Broader:
Reach the RIGHT Developers. Not Just More Developers. The Real Power is in Focus. As an Indie Creator, I will never maintain more than 2 Social Media Platforms.
You can also contact me via the Support Page.
An Image Post on LinkedIn about GameDev and Other Areas of the IT Industry Can Bring You More Profit than a Video on YouTube. I will never become the “Best Unity Developer”, but I definitely have a Talent for sharing complex technical information with the community in simple words.

The Biggest Mistake is trying to create the perfect post and overthinking what to post about. The Best Strategy is to Simply Share Every Step of your journey. The logic of Social Media is Simple: if you post consistently, you get results — and they compound over time. If you don’t, there won’t be any results.
- LinkedIn is a Unique Platform:
People from the Game Industry are Still Willing to read long-form posts (and not only) — if the Content is Genuinely Interesting. No Other Platform gives you the same concentration of professionals where Video is NOT the Main Focus. That makes LinkedIn a very special place for sharing knowledge, experiences, and ideas, not just for looking for a job. - People Trust People:
LinkedIn is a place where you can verify a person’s authority and professional experience without even leaving the platform — simply by visiting their profile. This makes it much easier to understand who is behind the content you are reading. - Building a Core Audience is Extremely Important:
Your posts are first tested with your existing audience that is called “In-network” which includes Connections and Followers. If they engage with your content, LinkedIn starts recommending it to the 2nd and 3rd circles of your network, and so on (“Out-of-network”). That’s why building trust and a long-term connection with your audience matters so much. - Discussion is NOT Just Engagement:
It’s a way to discover new ideas, learn from others, and see different perspectives. My Posts are not just posts. They are Living Organisms because I try to answer every comment, even when there is no direct question. Only this Dynamic Format Makes Sense. A Post Can Continue to Generate Views and Engagement for Weeks after publication.
LinkedIn is More Valuable for Social Media Marketing in GameDev and Other Tech Fields — Image Posts here are Cheaper and Can Deliver Significantly Better Results than YouTube Videos.
LinkedIn Premium Business
In 2026, I purchased an annual LinkedIn Premium Business subscription to:
- Increase My Visibility on the Platform, Promote Products with More Confidence, and Grow My Network of Devs and Other Industry Professionals.
- Build Credibility and Stand Out from Competitors — Authors have 13x More Profile Views on average. Source: LinkedIn data (July 2024).
- Enable my Open Profile, so you can message me here without any limitations, making it more convenient for us to communicate.

YouTube
Image Posts about Unity and GameDev matter on YouTube and they can appear in the following places:
- Shorts Feed,
- Subscriptions Feed,
- Channel’s Posts Tab,
- YouTube Home Page.

Posts Don’t Usually Get as Much Organic Reach and Engagement as They Do on LinkedIn because YouTube is primarily a Video Platform.
I consider YouTube a Standard Platform for Developers when it comes to Video, and just a “Bonus Platform” that can bring up to 1.5K Views Per Image Post in my case (vs. 167K on LinkedIn — my record).
Case Studies of Product Promotion
Testing Different Ideas and Approaches is Key to Achieving the Best Results. That’s Why a Single Post May NOT Always Be Enough to Maximize the Impact and Return on Investment of Product Promotion.
3 Image Posts is an Optimal Starter Package (e.g., 1 post per week), helping reduce the risk since post performance can vary significantly.
UniText
UniText — the Complete Text Engine for Unity, supporting Most Languages, Emojis, Advanced Styles, and Markups. The client gave me Full Creative Freedom over the Content and Design of the posts.

I am a Developer Advocate
Developer Advocate is a person with a Technical Background (primarily Programming) — basically, a dev “in retirement”, if you will — who can Understand Code and Test New Features in order to:
- Share them with the Community in any form: Image Posts, Videos, and so on.
- Build a Connection between the Product Developers and the Developers Using This Product:
- Answering Comments,
- Passing Important Information about Bugs, Feedback, and Feature Requests back to the Development Team.
- Increase Product Sales as a Result of the Transparency and Trust Built Through Points 1 and 2.
There are Plenty of Developers, but 10 times fewer Developer Advocates. And you don’t necessarily need to hire them full-time. I can promote your Unity Assets or Other Technical Stuff on a project basis.

Being an Indie Developer of Unity Assets, Product Advocacy has actually been a part of my work for more than 10 years. The Messages in the Screenshots Above are Simply the Result of Something I Really Enjoy: Explaining Technical and Related Topics to People in Simple Language — and it doesn’t really matter whether it’s related to the Game Industry or not.
I try to post GameDev and Unity-related content regularly: It’s not just copying and pasting what Unity Technologies posts all over the internet. I only post what I’ve tried, what I’ve felt, and what I’m excited about. This allows me to add my expert comments and respond to every comment from Other Devs.
Why AI Doesn’t Work for Content Creation
I’ve spent years observing Content Creators who rely on AI to Generate Complete Posts and Visuals, or just rewrite official announcements without adding personal experience. Many of them struggle to achieve real engagement.
The Reason is Simple:
People Can Feel when content has No Human Perspective behind it. AI Cannot Replace Years of Learning, Testing, Discussions with Developers, and Genuinely Following the Game Industry.
Real value comes from understanding the topic and adding your own perspective. That’s why my posts work. I spend a lot of time (from several hours to days) creating a single post:
- I sometimes go for a walk in the forest just to think about the topic. Walking helps me organize my thoughts and often leads to better ideas.
- Text is manually written only after I have learned the material — this adds my personal experience and expertise. However, AI can help with Grammar and “Productivity”.
- Images and Screenshots are manually enhanced in a Photo Editor. AI can rarely provide interesting ways to visualize official data (for example, graphs), but raw AI images will never be used because they don’t make sense and often look too artificial — especially when they use the old Unity logo.
