Case Studies of Product Promotion
Testing different ideas and approaches is key to achieving the best results. That’s why a single post may not always be enough to maximize the impact and return on investment of product promotion.
3 Image Posts is an Optimal Starter Package (e.g., 1 post per week), helping reduce the risk since post performance can vary significantly.
UniText
UniText — the Complete Text Engine for Unity, supporting Most Languages, Emojis, Advanced Styles, and Markups. The client gave me Full Creative Freedom over the Content and Design of the posts.

* I believe that if we had used the conversation screenshot, as I suggested to the advertiser, the results for Image Post 3 would have been similar to those of the previous posts. However, I respect my client’s privacy, so I don’t publish our private chat without consent. This also highlights one advantage of purchasing a Bundle of 3 Posts — the risks are diversified across them.

People overthink what to post about and how to post it. Just Post. You don’t need to post an Image or Video every time — use all the formats Social Media platforms provide for Product Promotion: Text, Images and Videos in different aspect ratios, Polls, Documents, Celebrations, etc.
The more diverse your content is, the more chances you have to get Organic Reach. A post that takes 5 minutes to create can go viral. A post that takes several hours to create can be ignored. I constantly observe examples of this in my own practice.
Posting at least once a day with a non-ideal post (even simple text or screenshot) is better than posting once a week with a perfect post (social media algorithms don’t care about that).
Promotion on LinkedIn is better in terms of simplicity of content creation. However, YouTube also supports Image Posts, which can appear in the following places:
- Shorts Feed,
- Subscriptions Feed,
- Channel’s Posts Tab,
- YouTube Home Page.
YouTube Posts don’t usually get as much organic reach and engagement as they do on LinkedIn because YouTube is primarily a Video Platform. I consider YouTube a Standard Platform for Developers when it comes to Video, and just a “Bonus Platform” when publishing Image Posts.
Why Developers Need Product Promotion
Developers and Founders often focus on building a great product and neglect marketing and product promotion. This is a serious mistake — even the best product can go unnoticed without effective advertising.
I’ve already worked with several advertisers (Indie Developers), and there is one thing they have in common — they can do the promotion themselves. However, they have other priorities. They just need a guy who can create posts, communicate with potential users like a Developer Advocate, come up with ideas, handle the marketing for them, and already has a Developer-focused audience.
I’ve been teaching them throughout our work together, and I constantly had to act as a “nanny” to help promotion posts gain traction:
- “Comment here”,
- “You can post this separately right now”,
- “Let’s turn this into another post”,
- And so on.
This is already not just Product Promotion. This is Entire Marketing. Love it. Dozens of private messages with kind words about my content, Hundreds of devs who have liked my posts for months, and regular reposts from Unity Staff can’t lie.
Why AI Doesn’t Work for Content Creation
I’ve spent years observing Content Creators who rely on AI to Generate Complete Posts and Visuals, or just rewrite official announcements without adding personal experience. Many of them struggle to achieve real engagement.
The Reason is Simple:
People Can Feel when content has No Human Perspective behind it. AI Cannot Replace Years of Learning, Testing, Discussions with Developers, and Genuinely Following the Industry.
Real value comes from understanding the topic and adding your own perspective. That’s why my posts work. I spend a lot of time (from several hours to days) creating a single post:
- I sometimes go for a walk in the forest just to think about the topic. Walking helps me organize my thoughts and often leads to better ideas.
- Text is manually written only after I have learned the material — this adds my personal experience and expertise. However, AI can help with Grammar and “Productivity”.
- Images and Screenshots are manually enhanced in a Photo Editor. AI can rarely provide interesting ways to visualize official data (for example, graphs), but raw AI images will never be used because they don’t make sense and often look too artificial — especially when they use the old Unity logo.
Contract Example
I prepared this Contract Example for myself because the client asked me to create it for the Upwork platform. Looks like my dream job found me — and I even get to write my own tasks.

Reviews
Many things happen behind the scenes to make posts work. Every message in the chat, every screenshot of the product provided, every article on the website, every review, and every comment from people affects the final result. Focusing on the main things and maintaining proactive discussions are the key pillars of my promotional work.
